My arms are outstretched, waving around like nunchucks. My legs are in rapid fire mode, running on the spot. It’s crowded on the dance floor and everyone can see I’m about to bust a move. They back up and make a circle…Everyone’s waiting for my usual killer dance moves but they don’t come. No. The move I’m busting is sharing Hellen and Dang’s wedding with you. The reason behind my verbal theatrics? Well, I’m just excited and I’m currently break dancing inside my heart. I was hoping that whilst writing this my analogy would come together and everything would seem quite clever. Unfortunately, that didn’t eventuate.
However, that doesn’t take away from what was quite a special wedding. Hellen and Dang are Brissie locals as well as Vietnamese. It was important to them that they honour their cultures, both Vietnamese and Australian by having a traditional tea ceremony in the morning and an urban party in the evening.
I don’t think I’ve shot a wedding with so much variety. There was just so much going on that I won’t even begin to describe the events. As usual it’s best just to let the pictures do the talking. Although, I will say that we got some pretty cool images when we snuck into the Dendy Cinemas (with permission of course).
Big shout out goes to my main man, Rob, who did a magnificent job double shootin’ for me. Turns out I had Ross River Fever, so Rob’s jokes and enthusiasm helped me through it. You’re a champion mate.
